How your antenatal choices can help fight child trafficking

How your antenatal choices can help fight child trafficking

Give yourself the gift of a beautiful birth…& help the fight against child trafficking.

That’s the message to parents-to-be as a new childbirth education service launches in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

Buddha Babies will provide ‘mindful’ antenatal classes, Hypnobirthing courses and yogic birth workshops, designed to help women have conscious and positive births.

The venture led by childbirth educator, prenatal yoga teacher and mum Stacey Astley-Clark is a social enterprise – meaning 20% of all course costs are donated to The Freedom Project, a charity that rescues, rehabilitates and prevents children from lives of sex trafficking and slave labour.

Buddha Babies is the official Hypnobirthing Australia provider for Bondi and Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

Hypnobirthing is an evidence-based method of preparing for birth that eliminates fear surrounding labour and helps reduce the need for medical intervention and pain relief.

Thousands of women around the world have safely birthed their babies around the world using Hypnobirthing methods, including Angelina Jolie and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.

Enrolments are now open for the first course which takes place over 2 Sundays (4th & 18th June) at The Little Space in Bondi Junction.

The program costs $550 per couple, of which $110 goes directly to The Freedom Project.

Stacey who was led to Hypnobirthing during her own pregnancy 5 years ago, explained that parents can make a real difference through their childbirth choices:

‘We’ve estimated that for every 22 people that enrol on our Hypnobirthing course, we are able to fund a rescue project in India…which is truly amazing.

By choosing Buddha Babies for your childbirth education, you’re not only giving your baby a positive start in life, you’re helping to create a fresh start for children who’ve been forced into lives of slavery’

During the 12-hour course, participants will re-program their minds to delete the ‘horror stories’ surrounding birth and learn practical techniques for remaining calm, managing pain and helping labour progress smoothly.
